Meet Kate

Creative Designer and Vocalist Kate Barr has always been obsessed with the idea of expressing herself through music and design. Whether it’s singing on stage or designing an Album release campaign, Barr never slows on her passion of turning her deep understanding of music into tangible design.

Born in Iowa, and moving to the Chicago suburbs shortly after, she started piano lessons, orchestra, theatre, and choir early. Putting karaoke shows on in her childhood basement and creating music videos just for herself, Barr was always trying to scratch that creative itch in any form of media. Eventually, a dedication to learning the art of her own singing voice brought her from voice lessons in high school to Belmont University in Nashville where she graduated from the Commercial Voice program with honors in 2025.

While pursuing her emphasis in Music Business at Belmont, Barr discovered that she could concretely connect her musical knowledge, vocal prowess, and love of design into a career. After graduating in May of 2025, Barr earned the opportunity to intern remotely for Mariami Bibilouri’s indie music label / digital marketing agency based in New York City, Sungate Records. During the summer, Barr created multiple graphics, videos, and other content for indie artists’ social medias. Most recently, she has been promoted to the Creative Design and Asset Coordinator at Sungate. This has her handling larger design projects like vinyl packaging, cover art, and posters for high profile brand collaborations as well as communicating daily with artists and collaborators.

Now based in Nashville, Kate is following her dreams of a career in the Music Industry working remotely for Sungate, and teaching voice lessons on the side to all of her wonderful students as well!
